Anti inflammatory shots

The Method

These Anti-inflammatory Shots pack a zesty, warming punch that wakes up the palate instantly. The fiery heat of fresh ginger and earthy turmeric roots is balanced perfectly by the bright acidity of lemon, while a dash of black pepper adds a subtle kick to this invigorating daily ritual.

Why Your Gut Needs It:
This blend is a masterclass in nutrient synergy; the addition of black pepper contains piperine, which creates a bio-available environment to help your body absorb the curcumin found in turmeric. Paired with zinc to support the normal function of the gut lining and ginger to aid digestive motility, this is a gentle yet effective way to fuel your body's natural defences.

Method

  1. Prep the Produce: Wash your ginger, turmeric, and lemons thoroughly. Cut the ginger and turmeric into chunks that will fit comfortably into your juicer chute. Depending on the strength of your juicer, you may leave the skins on, but peel them if using a standard model to prevent clogging.
  2. Extract the Juice: Feed the ginger, turmeric, and lemons through the juicer, alternating between hard roots and softer citrus to keep the machine running smoothly. Be careful not to overfill the mechanism.
  3. Dilute and Activate: Measure your total juice yield. Pour the juice into a large jug or pitcher and add filtered water at a ratio of 5 parts water to 1 part juice.
  4. Add the Boosters: Stir in the black pepper and the liquid zinc. Whisk well to combine. Transfer to airtight glass bottles and keep refrigerated.
Steph's Tip: Fresh turmeric stains everything it touches! Wear gloves while chopping to avoid yellow fingertips, and rinse your juicer parts immediately with cold water to prevent permanent colouring.
